The Papardes Foundation residency offers a context for critical and creative work across disciplines. The program supports artists, architects, writers, and researchers engaged with questions that resonate with the foundation's interests in spatial theory, ecology, philosophy, and artistic practice.
Focus Areas:
- Architectural theory and spatial research
- Ecological engagement and environmental thought
- Philosophical inquiry and critical writing
- Visual arts and interdisciplinary practice
- Projects responding to the cultural context of the Livonian coast
The residency provides access to the house, studios, library, and surrounding land. Participants may work individually or collaboratively, with the possibility of public presentation or documentation of their research. The foundation values process and inquiry as much as completed works.
Current Structure (2025-2026): The residency program is in its formative stage, initially functioning through invitation and collaboration. During this period, the foundation is developing its framework for future open applications. Artists, architects, and researchers interested in the possibility of residency are invited to contact us with a brief description of their practice and potential points of connection with Papardes.
Duration: Residencies may range from two weeks to three months, depending on the nature of the project and availability of space. The foundation is particularly interested in supporting sustained engagement that allows for meaningful response to the context.
Documentation: The foundation maintains an archive of resident projects and research. Participants are invited to contribute documentation of their work for this purpose, extending the collective knowledge generated through the program.
